David Hägglund has been appointed to replace Kate Phelan and Gordon Richardson as the new creative director for both Topshop and Topman. He will start his new role on September 4.
“The appointment of David Hägglund in the newly combined role continues to mark the start of a new era for Topshop and Topman in moving both brands forward in their ongoing global expansion,” said Sir Philip Green, owner of parent group Arcadia. “I am delighted to welcome David, who will be joining Paul Price, our new CEO, on the same day and I look forward to working with them both to drive the business forward.”
Hägglund is a Swedish-born creative whose previous resume includes a managing director at Swedish ad agency Storakers McCann and art director at Vogue Paris. He also founded his own eponymous design studio where he worked with famous brands including H&M and Hugo Boss.
