TIME magazine has recently named its annual “100 Most Influential People” for the year 2017. Among the listed names are creative director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele and creative director of Calvin Klein, Raf Simons.
For Alessandro Michele, the Italian fashion designer is chosen as one of TIME‘s “Artists” category with his profiling detail written by Oscar-winning supporting actor Jared Leto (2013’s Dallas Buyers Club). Here is an excerpt from Leto‘s profile:
“Yves, Karl, Gianni, Giorgio, Christian, Coco. It’s rare that a new name can be added to such an illustrious list. But Lallo, as he is known to his closest friends, has more than earned his place. I have witnessed firsthand the amount of thought, care and passion he puts into everything he creates. It’s inspiring to behold.”
Hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky, in the meantime, shares his appreciation for Raf Simons (selected under “Icons” category) with an excerpt that said:
“I feel like Raf Simons is important for the culture based on the fact that he built a whole new religion around fashion.”
