In October 2015, Raf Simons shocked the fashion world when he decided to part ways with Dior after collaborating with the iconic French fashion house for a three-and-a-half year. According to Dior, the Belgian fashion designer “reached this decision for personal reasons.” He gradually joined Calvin Klein and has since helped the American fashion label revamped the classic Calvin Klein logo alongside legendary British graphic designer Peter Saville and also launched his first campaign for the brand dubbed the American Classics.
Now, in a recent interview with Amuse, the designer has finally opened up regarding his further reasons on why he left Dior for Calvin Klein.
In one of the excerpts from his interview, he stated, “To be really honest, the attraction and the reason why I came to Calvin (Klein) is because it has the highest and the lowest and everything in between, so you can reach out to everybody. Which, in high fashion, is not always easy. It was not something that was possible at Dior, for example. It is possible at Calvin Klein.”
