There is a denim jacket we all familiar with, and there’s a denim jacket that comes with smart remotes. Enter Levi’s Commuter Smart Jacket a.k.a. Levi’s Commuter Trucker Jacket, which was first introduced last May as a joint partnership between Levi’s and Google‘s ATAP division called Project Jacquard. The long-delayed release of the jacket is resurfaced at this year’s recent SXSW festival in Austin.
The aforementioned “smart jacket” is actually a denim jacket with a wearable technology that consists of touch-enabled conductive fabric and a Bluetooth connection that linked to your smartphone. How does it work? Let’s say if you are riding a bicycle, you will have little problem accessing your music such as play, pause or skip a track or answering your phone calls just by swiping your sleeve.
The Levi’s Commuter Smart Jacket is expected to hit stores this fall for a hefty price tag of US$350 (RM1,548). In the meantime, here is the last year’s video of the smart jacket.
