Giorgio Armani has teamed up with costume designer Catherine George to design a full wardrobe for Richard Gere‘s character in Oren Moverman‘s upcoming drama thriller titled The Dinner, set to release in the U.S. cinemas on May 5.
The full wardrobe includes a coat, a navy suit, a cashmere turtleneck sweater along with a range of casual wear as well as a few shirts and ties.
“It was a pleasure to collaborate with Oren Moverman and Catherine George,” said Armani. “Catherine totally understands the philosophy behind my aesthetic, which is perfect for Richard Gere, a longtime friend of mine. Being passionate about the movie industry, it’s an honour for me to contribute to the making of a film.”
In 1980, Armani famously dressed Gere in American Gigolo, a crime drama directed by Paul Schrader about a male escort that launched the actor’s career and also boosts the Italian designer’s profile in the U.S.
