Last year, Converse has released a waterproof version of its Chuck Taylor All Star II. Fast-forward to 2017, the iconic American footwear label is back with another waterproof sneaker and this time, it was the classic Chuck Taylor ’70s All Star high-top silhouette.
The upcoming Chuck Taylor ’70s All Star high-top sneaker will retain all of its original look including retro details like the All Star rubber toe box, All Star ankle patch as well as the white sidewall stitching and the vintage heel plate. But the biggest highlight here is the additional GORE-TEX fabric on its premium canvas upper.
First invented in 1969 by Wilbert L. Gore and his son Robert, the GORE-TEX fabric is known for its waterproof and breathable material, which in turn, gives the Chuck Taylor ’70s All Star high-top sneaker an added protection against wet conditions such as rainy weather while keeping your feet dry even if you step on a puddle of water. The Chuck Taylor ’70s All Star high-top sneaker with GORE-TEX treatment is expected to hit stores in May 2017.
