Balenciaga has topped the Lyst Index 2017 ranking list as the world’s hottest brand in the third quarter of 2017. According to the report, Balenciaga‘s current numero uno position is due to “a new logo and a Colette residency kept the brand top of mind, while Demna Gvasalia continues to design products that drive the fashion narrative online.” Best of all, Balenciaga even beat Gucci out of the spot.
As for the rest of the Top 10 list, Gucci is now dropping to No. 2 while Off-White made a quantum leap from No. 34 to No. 3, thanks to “Virgil Abloh‘s influential circle of friends and cross-platform messaging [that] that paid dividends in Q3.” Both Vetements, Givenchy and Valentino remain their respective positions in No. 4, 5, 6 just like the second quarter.
Rounding up the list is Saint Laurent (No. 7), Stone Island (No. 8), Moncler (No. 9) and Raf Simons, which climbed from No. 21 to No. 10 after “having won both the womenswear and menswear CFDA awards [as well as] due to interest in his ‘duct tape belt’.”
