KLFW 2014 marked a significant milestone for our local designer Vincent Siow of the Comoddity (we’ve had a giveaway sponsored by the label not long ago, remember?) as it was where the label debuted their first ever runway collection.
Judging from a few key pieces from the runway looks, it wasn’t hard to understand why the collection was named “Ark of Constellations” – we saw shimmery fabric akin to blinking stars, graphical embroidery that resemble asterisms. On top of that, I’d say there’s also a little dose of “Tron” and futuristic vibe added to the mix.
While colour-blocking and patchworks on some pieces still channelling the original identity of the label, foliage embroidery has been removed and replaced with the above-mentioned fabrics and patterns. The collection looks more refined when compared with the previous works. From what I see, it is an evolution in building a stronger brand identity.
What we love:
Le “Tron” look.
A “safe” one yet very wearable.
This jacket is the crème de la crème, pal.
