British luxury fashion label Alexander McQueen has teamed up with VOJD Studios to launch the brand’s limited-edition 3D-printed umbrella for the Fall/Winter 2016 season. The 3D-printed umbrella from Alexander McQueen also marks the first major luxury fashion brand ever to do so.
The 3D-printed umbrella, which is collapsible, features the iconic McQueen skull pattern in black and sports an ergonomic silver-tone brass carved handle. Made in Italy, the 3D-printed umbrella is now available at SSENSE for US$715 as well as other retailers.
This is not the first time VOJD Studios partnered with a reputable fashion brand like Alexander McQueen. The Berlin-based label has previously collaborated with other fashion labels like Carolina Herrera, Akris and Prabal Gurung, on incorporating 3D printing in their jewellery and/or accessory lines.
Other than the 3D-printed umbrella, Alexander McQueen is also known for both women and men’s ready-to-wear & tailored apparel, shoes, bags and other accessories such as socks and towels.
