Back in April, Givenchy has appointed actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson to front the new Gentleman Givenchy scent. Now, the scent itself will be a modern rendition of Hubert de Givenchy‘s 1975 original fragrance made specifically for today’s generation.
“At the time, it was a perfume with a fairly racy signature, powerful, formulated with a lot of patchouli and leaving a noticeable wake,” said Romain Spitzer, CEO of Givenchy Parfums. “The idea was to recover the audacity of that time, with a composition a bit more contemporary.”
The aforementioned contemporary version of Gentleman Givenchy scent will be a mix of lavender, iris, pear and patchouli-leather. The scent is concocted by Firmenich perfumers Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson, in which Spitzer described the mix as a combination of “power and sweetness”.
