Famous Italian luxury fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo has tapped Guillaume Meilland as the brand’s new men’s ready-to-wear design director. This marks Salvatore Ferragamo‘s third major appointment of the year following the announcements of Fulvio Rigoni as women’s ready-to-wear design director and Paul Andrew as women’s footwear design director.

“I am thrilled to be able to work for a brand as prestigious as Salvatore Ferragamo and with such important history. This is a momentous challenge and I plan to draw on the brand’s history and heritage to create modern men’s collections that look to the future,” said Meilland in a press statement.

Prior to joining Salvatore Ferragamo, Meilland has previously worked with different menswear labels as a designer for Cacharel in 2005 and Yves Saint Laurent in 2007. His last appointment was at the Parisian high fashion house Lanvin, in which he worked as a senior designer for 8 years since October 2008.

Meilland‘s designs for Salvatore Ferragamo are set to debut in January next year.
