Riccardo Tisci, who recently quit his 12-year tenure as creative director of Givenchy, has partnered with Nike on the latest Nike Dunk Lux Chukka collection.
Inspired by retro ’80s basketball and skate culture, Tisci and Nike styled the brand’s mid-top sneaker with full-grain leather upper, the oversized iconic Swoosh branding in either black, red and white on the heel, as well as a Lunarlon insole for maximum cushioning comfort.
“I think the Dunk has something that’s very special. It’s grounded in sport as well as in the street style culture. For younger generations, it can fit as many different styles tribes as you can imagine. I think it’s one of the most iconic shoes that Nike has ever created,” said Tisci.
Available in three different colourways (Black/White, White/Red and White/Black), the NikeLab x Riccardo Tisci sneaker collection will be sold exclusively in New York City on February 10 at NikeLab at Bergdorf Goodman, NikeLab 21 Mercer, Concepts New York, Dover Street Market New York and KITH Brooklyn. Fortunately for the rest of the world, there will be a global release at NikeLab retailers and online on February 23.
