The Interbrand‘s Best Global Brands 2017 ranking has revealed that Louis Vuitton held the top spot as the best luxury fashion brand worldwide, ranking at 19. The other three luxury fashion brands in the rankings are Hermès (32), Gucci (51), Burberry (86) and Prada (94). Ralph Lauren, however, dropped out of the rankings completely from its 98th spot last year.
For Louis Vuitton, the luxury Parisian brand has maintained the same 19th position since last year. According to Interbrand global director Rebecca Robins via BoF, one of the key success of Louis Vuitton this year is their recent high-profile collaboration with Supreme.
“Louis Vuitton has connected the brand into culture,” she explained. “When we look at Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermès what is the magic with these brands? Not only are they going strong operationally, but it’s their relationship between brand and culture and they are doing it in a way that is of the moment and relevant but also sustainable. It’s not a flash-in-the-pan. It’s well thought through, strategically driven and delivered with the strength of their conviction”.
In case you are wondering which brands held the top three spot in this year’s Interbrand rankings, it was the technology brands that include Apple, Google and Microsoft.
