To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Japanese denim brand Edwin has enlisted Adriano Goldschmied to design a brand new collection for the US market.
The Italian-born and currently Los Angeles-based jeans legend, who also runs his namesake studio in Los Angeles’ Arts District, will be creating the new Edwin collection for both Holiday 2017 and Spring/Summer 2018.
According to Goldschmied, his aim is to combine Edwin‘s classic DNA with a modern sensibility that he hopes “will work for the American market and be understandable all over the world”. Among the highlights includes five-pocket jeans, French terry bottoms, T-shirts, chambray shirts and outerwear. And true to the heritage of the brand, the collection will be manufactured in Japan.
“The goal is to make Edwin the only global Japanese denim brand,” said Goldschmied. “They are one of my main inspirations because they love indigo and they are amazing at developing product.”
